We have half of the NBA in action on Sunday, and this should be an entertaining slate of games to sink our teeth into. Today, we will pick three games you should have some action on and explain why they should hit.
NBA Best Bet #1: Houston Rockets +5
The Houston Rockets are struggling but will take on the New Orleans Pelicans in a Western Conference matchup. The Pelicans are trying to get healthy as they attempt to make a potential play-in tournament push as they are 12th in the West. The Pelicans have been underperforming without Zion Williamson this season, while the Rockets are on a three-game winning streak behind shooting guard Jalen Green. He has done well in his three games this year against the Pelicans, averaging 24.7 points, 4.3 rebounds and 5.3 assists per game thus far. Houston should keep this game close and cover the spread in this matchup.
NBA Best Bet #2: Brooklyn Nets Moneyline +105
The Brooklyn Nets are trying to avoid the play-in tournament as they sit in sixth place in the Eastern Conference and take on the Denver Nuggets on Sunday. The Nets are a good team and just played the Nuggets a week ago in Denver, with the Nets picking up a 122-120 road win, so they should do well in this matchup. The Nuggets are in the second half of a back-to-back as they lost to the New York Knicks on Saturday. The Nuggets are 1-4 in their last five games, so go with the Brooklyn Nets to win this game, as they should sweep the regular season series.
NBA Best Bet #3: Los Angeles Lakers -6.5
The Los Angeles Lakers will be hosting the Orlando Magic in a non-conference matchup here, and the Lakers might have to settle for a Western Conference play-in tournament spot in a best-case scenario. Anthony Davis is listed as probable for this game as he is dealing with a lingering foot injury, but he has been a force in the second half of the regular season as he is averaging 26.3 points, 13.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 2.2 blocks per game. This is the second half of a back-to-back for Orlando as they faced off against the Clippers on Saturday. The Lakers are the better team and have the rest advantage, so go with the Los Angeles Lakers to cover the spread here.
