The New Jersey Devils head to Arizona to take on the Coyotes. The Coyotes look slightly different, as they have traded most of their high-level talent. As if Arizona wasn’t bad enough this year, they will reach new heights of terrible as they close the season.
Over the past week, Arizona has traded Jakob Chychrun, Nick Bjugstad, Nick Ritchie, and Troy Stecher. While this team did not have anything going for themselves prior to this week, they are now even weaker. While they picked up some nice pieces for the future in the trades, the ultimate return awaits them at the end of the season.
Five points separate the Coyotes from the last place, and losing this talent will help them fall in the standings. However, they’ll have a better chance at Connor Bedard in the number one draft pick.
As for the Devils, their most significant move at the deadline was landing Timo Meier from the Sharks. There was a truckload more to that trade, with nine total players involved, but Timo Meier was far and away the most prominent piece of the deal.

Devils vs. Coyotes Prediction
While the Coyotes lost most of the little talent they had, they still have the advantage of the tiniest home arena in the league. The tiny college barn that is Mullett Arena has helped the Coyotes win far more games than they should have. Arizona is 16-11 at home as opposed to 11-24 on the road. While the Devils are a vastly superior team, the “Yotes” cannot be counted out at home.
Even if a bettor was considering the New Jersey puckline, the odds simply make it not worth it. There is no smart player as it pertains to who will win this game, but knowing Arizona will give up plenty of goals and they will score a few being at home, the over is undoubtedly the best bet in this game.
