The Green Bay Packers (1-1) take on the New Orleans Saints (2-0) at home on Sunday in Week 3 action. The Packers fell to the Falcons last week, 25-24, and they’ll play their home opener this afternoon. New Orleans topped Carolina, 20-17, last week, thanks to a great defensive performance. Both teams have looked good with their new QBs, and they’re very evenly matched for today’s contest.

Key Stats
Green Bay’s QB Jordan Love has been great so far, coming in with six TD passes, zero interceptions, and a 118.8 passer rating. He’s targeted a ton of Packer receivers, and Romeo Doubs and Jayden Reed are the go-to guys. Tight end Luke Musgrave has been reliable as well. In the backfield, the Packers have Aaron Jones and A.J. Dillon, and they’re hoping that Jones can suit up after missing last week’s game. If both are healthy, they should be able to put some pressure on the Saints’ defense.
Defensively, the Packers are pretty average, but they do have to improve their run defense. Green Bay has already allowed 333 yards on the ground, as the Falcons’ Bijan Robinson dominated, routinely getting to the second level. There is potential with this defensive unit, but they have to bounce back this week against the run.
New Orleans’ veteran QB Derek Carr has stepped in and done his job so far, but their other QB and utility threat Taysom Hill has impressed. Carr has 533 yards through the air and a mediocre 80.2 passer rating, while Hill leads the Saints in rushing yards, with 79 on 12 carries. Suspended running back Alvin Kamara will miss this week’s contest but he should be good to go next week. In the meantime, Tony Jones Jr. will take over as Jamaal Williams is out due to injury.
The Saints have a strong receiving core, with Chris Olave, Rashid Shaheed, and Michael Thomas all off to good starts. On defense, New Orleans is one of the best in the NFC, and they’ve allowed only 320 passing yards through two games. They can improve versus the run, but Aaron Jones’ status will make a big difference here.
New Orleans Saints vs Green Bay Packers Betting Prediction
The Packers should be thrilled to play their home opener, but things won’t come easy versus a tough New Orleans defense. If Jones plays, Green Bay will have a good shot to come out on top, but either way, this should be a low-scoring affair. Both of New Orleans’ games have gone under, and that should be the case here.
