Key Stats
Seattle QB Geno Smith tore up the Lions defense in Week 2, finishing with 328 passing yards on 32-for-41. He recorded two passing TDs, and main receivers DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett should be a focal point again. Second-year running back Kenneth Walker III has had a decent start after an excellent rookie campaign, and overall this is a well-balanced offense.
On defense, Seattle has had their issues, especially when it comes to stopping the pass. They’ve let up 650 passing yards, the fourth-most in the NFL, so we’ll see if they can fare better against veteran QB Andy Dalton.
#1 pick Bryce Young suffered an injury, so he’ll miss today’s game, but he’s expected back for Week 4. Longtime Bengals QB Andy Dalton will start in his absence, and he’ll have Adam Thielen and DJ Chark Jr.as his main targets. New tight end has been solid too, so the Panthers have some decent weapons for Dalton. Running back Miles Sanders has totaled 115 yards, and backup Chuba Hubbard is decent as well.
Carolina’s defense is mediocre, but there is room for improvement versus the run. They held Atlanta to only 91 passing yards during Week 1, but Seattle will be the toughest offense they’ve faced this season.
Carolina Panthers vs Seattle Seahawks Betting Prediction
The Panthers will be without their rookie QB, but they have some decent pieces in place to possibly pull off the upset. Still, Seattle is coming off of a big win, and they should jump out to a first half lead here against Carolina and their backup QB.
