The Offensive Rookie of the Year Award candidates are beginning to take shape after the conclusion of Week 4 of the 2023 season. Below, we will look at the players with the best odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook.
Offensive Rookie of the Year Award Favorites
C.J. Stroud, QB, Houston Texans (+175)
The leader for the Offensive Rookie of the Year Award, C.J. Stroud, has been fantastic for the Houston Texans in 2023. The Ohio State product has thrown for 1,212 yards and six scores against no interceptions, while Houston sits at 2-2. He has also added 51 yards on the ground in 14 attempts. Stroud’s ability to throw the ball and lead the offense is the main reason the Texans have competed this season.
Puka Nacua, WR, Los Angeles Rams (+425)
Puka Nacua, a fifth-round draft pick from BYU, leads the NFL with 39 receptions through Week 4. He has tallied 591 yards and one touchdown on 52 targets. Nacua scored the walk-off touchdown in his team’s 29-23 overtime win over the Colts in Week 4. Superstar wide receiver Cooper Kupp returns in Week 5, but Nacua should still receive plenty of targets after a red-hot start to his season.
Bijan Robinson, RB, Atlanta Falcons (+550)
Bijan Robinson, the top skill player in the 2023 NFL draft, has been electric for the Falcons to start the season. The Texas product is averaging a smooth 6.0 yards per rush attempt while flashing his dual-threat ability with 19 receptions for 134 yards and a score. Robinson is first on the Falcons in rushing yards and receptions while second in receiving yards. The running back is easily the heartbeat of the Atlanta offense.
Anthony Richardson, QB, Indianapolis Colts (+550)
The second quarterback on this list, the Colts’ Anthony Richardson, has flashed brilliance this year. Although he missed Week 3, Richardson still has four rushing touchdowns on 5.7 yards per attempt. The Florida alum has also been solid as a passer, throwing for 160 yards per game with three touchdowns and, most importantly, just one interception.
De’Von Achane, RB, Miami Dolphins (+600)
The fastest riser amongst Offensive Rookie of the Year candidates, the Dolphins’ De’Von Achane has run wild over the past two weeks. After being a healthy scratch in Week 1 and playing sparingly in Week 2, he has run for 304 yards and four scores over the previous two games. Achane has also hauled in seven catches for 49 yards and two scores. That’s an average of nearly 200 all-purpose yards and three scores since he became a focal part of the Miami offense.
Offensive Rookie of the Year Odds: Best of the Rest
Zay Flowers, WR, Baltimore Ravens (+1800)
Jordan Addison, WR, Minnesota Vikings (+2500)
Jahmyr Gibbs, RB, Detroit Lions (+3000)
Jaxson Smith-Njigba, WR, Seattle Seahawks (+4000)
Sam LaPorta, TE, Detroit Lions (+4500)
Lamar Jackson’s newest weapon in Baltimore, Zay Flowers, is averaging 61 receiving yards per game but has yet to score a touchdown. His upside will be limited while the dual-threat Jackson remains under center. Fellow wideout Jordan Addison had a great season in Minnesota before posting a goose egg in Week 4. However, he still has 13 receptions for 185 yards and two scores in 2023.
Jahmyr Gibbs has looked great in Detroit, but the running back has just 39 rushing attempts through his first four games as a pro. Teammate Sam LaPorta has flashed more consistency and has easily been the more consistent option in Detroit.
