The Washington Wizards (34-45) have missed the play-in spot and now take on the Atlanta Hawks (40-39) at the State Farm Center on Wednesday.
The Wizards are on a horrible 2-8 run in their last ten games and are facing a three-game losing streak. In their previous outing, Washington lost 140-128 against the Milwaukee Bucks. Kendrick Nunn was the most impressive player for the Wizards, who came off the bench and scored 24 points while playing only 22 minutes. However, it wasn’t enough as Giannis Antetokounmpo led the Bucks with a 28-point performance, followed by Jrue Holiday, who contributed 26 points. Brook Lopez also added 20 valuable points.
The Wizards will now face the Atlanta Hawks, who are about to seal the 8th spot and qualify for the playoffs. The Hawks are on a two-game winning streak, 6-4 in their last ten games. Their latest was a 123-105 win over the Chicago Bulls, which was led by Bogdan Bogdanovic (26) in the absence of Trae Young. Saddiq Bey had another impressive game where he scored 18 points in the win, while Dejounte Murray had 17. With a win tonight, they can almost confirm their 8th seed.
