UC Riverside Highlanders vs. Cal State Northridge Matadors Key Stats
UC Riverside has been inconsistent at times this year offensively, but overall they’ve been playing well heading into tonight’s game. The Highlanders are led by senior guard Zyon Pullin, who averages 17.7 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 4.2 assists. In addition to Pullin’s production, Flynn Cameron and Lachlan Obrin have been key contributors as well. Riverside doesn’t excel in a ton of areas, but they do limit opponents’ second chances and tend to outrebound teams pretty often. Their defense was amazing against Northridge last time, so they’ll look to replicate their intensity on that end tonight.
Northridge has not shot the ball well this year, converting just 39.6% of their field goals and 31.5% of their three-point attempts. In conference games, they’re shooting even worse, at just a 37.3% clip, which makes it difficult to squeeze out wins. Atin Wright is the Matadors’ high-volume scorer, leading the way with 16.0 PPG, while Dionte Bostick (12.4 PPG) and De’Sean Allen-Eikens (10.5 PPG) have been solid contributors too. The Matadors play at a really slow pace which has shown to make it harder to maintain a high field goal percentage, so look for them to try and come up with a different game plan after getting obliterated by Riverside last time.
UC Riverside Highlanders vs. Cal State Northridge Matadors Betting Prediction
Riverside has fared better against the spread this year, and Northridge is bad all-around offensively. I don’t see a way for the hosts to stay competitive here, as they don’t even shoot or make a lot of threes, either. Northridge is also just 4-10 ATS when they’re underdogs of seven or fewer points, so expect the visitors to have their way again.
Prediction: UC Riverside -6.5 (-115)
