The Wyoming Cowboys will be hosting the Air Force Falcons on Friday in a battle of Mountain West schools. Wyoming is down at 8-17 and 3-10 in conference games, but they just shocked New Mexico on the road, 70-56. Air Force is 13-14, and they’ve now dropped seven of their last eight. The Falcons are pretty bad in conference play, too, sporting just a 4-10 record against the Mountain West. Air Force did top Wyomng in mid-January, 82-74 at home, but they come into tonight’s contest as underdogs on the road.

Air Force Falcons vs. Wyoming Cowboys Key Stats
Air Force is one of the more efficient teams in the country, as they shoot 46.4% from the field overall. Even though they’re slumping right now, their offense hasn’t been the issue. Leading scorer Jake Heidbreder averages 14.5 points per game on 48.2% shooting, and he usually carries the scoring load. The Falcons don’t have anyone else that averages double-digit points, but they are well-organized offensively, and they have a solid 1.3 assist-to-turnover ratio. Defensively, Air Force has really struggled lately, allowing opponents to shoot 49.2% from the field over their previous five. They’ve barely forced turnovers too, but tonight they’ll need to up the defensive intensity to gain some momentum going forward.
Wyoming has not been a good defensive team this season, letting opponents score 107.1 points per 100 possessions. Opponents have also shot 45.6% overall and 36.4% from deep against the Cowboys, numbers that paint the picture of Wyoming’s season. They did manage to upset New Mexico on Tuesday, holding the Lobos to 36.8% shooting, which is likely an anomaly. Tonight, look for the hosts to rely mostly on Noah Reynolds (14.5 PPG) and Hunter Maldonaldo (14.4 PPG, 3.7 APG) as they try to win two straight games for the first time since the opening week of the season.
Air Force Falcons vs. Wyoming Cowboys Betting Prediction
The Falcons, despite a much better record, are underdogs tonight. While they’ve only gone 3-7 on the road, they are 6-4 against the spread in road games. Wyoming is only 9-14-1 ATS, and even though they just pulled off an impressive win, it’s hard to trust them, given how inconsistent they’ve been. Back Air Force here to at least cover, as they’ve already defeated Wyoming, and because the Cowboys have not been strong enough defensively to stop the Falcons tonight.
Prediction: Air Force +5 (-110)
