San Francisco Giants travel to the Windy City to start a three-game series against the Chicago White Sox. The Giants lost two of three to the New York Yankees to start the season. Yesterday, they were shut out 6-0 and could only muster three hits all game. Ross Stripling got the start for San Fran and lasted 5.0 innings, giving up six hits and four runs. Stripling also walked two and struck out three. The White Sox split their series against the defending champion Houston Astros. Mike Clevinger drew the start for Chicago and lasted 5.0 innings, allowing three hits and no runs. Clevinger walked three and struck out eight in yesterday’s win.
Can the Giants find a way to get in the column, or will Chicago prove to be too much?

Key Stats
San Francisco is 1-2 after getting shut out 6-0 by the Yankees on Sunday. The Giants were completely shut out twice in three games against New York. This team has talent but just couldn’t get it going yesterday. Anthony DeScalfini is the probable starter today for SF. DeScalfini was 0-2 last year with a 6.63 ERA, pitching 19 innings and striking out 17 batters. DeScalfini is coming off a sub-par season and is looking to start this year off on the right foot.
The White Sox are 2-2 this season after splitting the series with Houston. In yesterday’s game, Yasmani Grandal and Yoan Moncada both had three hits in the 6-3 victory. Chicago had the bats going in this one collecting 13 hits as a team. Michael Kopech will be on the mound today for the Sox. He was 5-9 last year with a 3.54 ERA. Kopech pitched 119.1 innings and struck out 105 batters. Chicago is a sleeper team for me this year. They are loaded with talent and are playing in one of the weaker divisions in the league. They are a playoff team if they can stay consistent.
Game Prediction
The Giants are a hot mess right now, and I don’t think they have what it takes to beat the White Sox. Kopech started pitching better towards the end of last season, and I look for him to continue improving his game. San Fran can’t seem to get the bats going, and if you can’t score, you can’t win. Chicago is the better team, and I think they will win today.
