If you are looking for value, you clicked on the wrong article, as the NL East is all but decided right now. The Atlanta Braves hold a massive lead in the division and the best baseball record. We will talk about a few teams in this race, and all odds are according to DraftKings Sportsbook.
Atlanta Braves (-8000)
The Atlanta Braves are 61-29 and show no signs of slowing down. This team is the most complete team, arguably, in the entire sport. They have been doing this with guys like Max Fried, Kyle Wright, and Huascar Ynoa out for extended periods of time. Their lineup is circular, with Ronald Acuna Jr and Matt Olson headlining it, and they should easily win the division this year.
Miami Marlins (+6000)
We need to include more teams, and the Marlins are the only team close enough to make an argument for. At 53-40, they are 9.5 games back of the Braves and should make the postseason. They are an unbelievable 21-6 in one-run games this season and 20-8 in interleague play. This is without Sandy Alcantara looking like his usual dominant self, either. The trade for Luis Arraez has paid off, as he leads baseball by a wide margin with a .380 batting average at the top of the order. It’s a nice dream, but the Braves are not collapsing this hard.
Philadelphia Phillies (+6000)
It’s nice to dream of the NL pennant winners from last year bouncing back and winning the division, but this isn’t the movies. They are 48-42 and currently 13 games back of Atlanta. They are only 9-15 against divisional opponents, and that has hurt them. Philly corrected their bullpen and has a strong four starters in their rotation, but they are not hitting enough, surprisingly. Don’t bet on Philly to make a run here, either.
