Minnesota Twins will look to stay undefeated today against Miami Marlins in Game 2. Yesterday the Twins crushed Miami 11-1. Tyler Mahle pitched 5.0 innings for Minnesota, giving up five hits and allowing one run to score. He walked one and struck out seven in the win; for the Marlins, Johnny Cueto could only make it through the first inning. He gave up three hits and allowed four runners to score. Jeff Lindgren came in and went 5.0 innings allowing four hits and four runs.
Miami played horribly in this one and will look to bounce back today. Will the Twins dominate again, or can the Marlins tie the series?

Key Stats
Minnesota is 4-0 to start the year and looks like a division contender. In yesterday’s dismantling of Miami, Trevor Larnach was 2 for 5 scoring two runs and driving in another three. The Twins will send Kenta Maeda to the mound. Maeda was 6-5 last year with a 4.66 ERA. He pitched 106.1 innings and struck out 113 batters. The Twins have started strong and have talent up and down the roster. Minnesota will be a playoff team if they continue to play this way.
Miami is 1-4 on the year and has been struggling. Bryan De La Cruz went 3 for 4 and scored the team’s only run. The Marlins, as a team, were only able to muster one run out of 12 hits. That kind of conversion will not win games. The good news for Miami is that Sandy Alcantara will be on the mound today. Alcantara was 14-9 last year with a 2.28 ERA. He pitched 228.2 innings and struck out 207 batters. However, this is not an easy outing for him, as the Twins have been hitting the ball really well to start the year.
Game Prediction
It is hard to bet against Minnesota with as good as they are playing. Alcantara is solid on the mound, but the Twins’ ability to produce runs worries me. Minnesota has more depth and is the overall better team. At some point, Miami will bounce back, but I don’t see it happening today. I am rolling with Minnesota outright. The Twins are the better team, and I think they will prevail today.
